During the last General Assembly of the Council of Bureaux it was announced that Israel will no longer participate in the Green Card system as of 1st January 2022.

For that reason, as of 1st January 2022, all Green Card certificates issued in the course of 2021 with a validity period expiring in 2022 and valid for the territory of Israel will no longer be accepted by the Israeli border control authorities. Frontier insurance will be necessary to enter Israel.

The Internal Regulations will no longer apply for accidents, occurred on or after this date in the territory of Israel.

The Green card certificates with validity date after 1st January 2022 should be issued with the box ‘IL’ crossed out.
